Other Famous Passing Shame on the Pen for focusing on the
death of Sir John Gielgud to the exclusion of Dame Barbara Cartland. Surely the Queen of
Romance, the woman who authored over 700 books during her lifetime, deserves a respectful
sigh at her passing. The Pen should recognize that it was Dame Barbara who doubtlessly
inspired two local authors of merit: the mysterious and much-loved Helena O'Rall, and the
Gazette's own Lumpy Gaites.

Three Cheers for Red
Three Cheers for Arthur, he is our mate,
He hates the Tories, ain't that great?
Red stands for justice, hope for grannies,
Plans to upset those with nannies,
For those opposed, you must now note,
You're stuck with him--you didn't vote!

Candidates Express Thanks
I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks to all those who supported my
stand for Village Elder. This opportunity has given me the chance to speak out on issues
of importance to the community. I hope to work with Mr. Covers in the coming months to
bring peace, health and happiness to all of Puckerings' residents, both two-legged and
four.
