Judge Decries Drugs at Stoney Grove and Buckingham
PalaceIn what many are hopeful will be the final chapter in the Puckering
Drug Ring Scandal, Mr. John White appeared before the magistrates last week. Mr. White,
currently employed as a gardener at Stoney Grove, pleaded guilty to possession of
marijuana.
In passing sentence, local magistrate Mrs. N. Morcombe said that it was a sad day when
the scourge of drugs seeped into even the great houses of the nation, noting with dismay
that cannabis was recently found in small quantities in Buckingham Palace. Since, however,
this was a first offence and the defendant had come forward on his own to admit
responsibility, she expressed some leniency by giving Mr. White a six month suspended
sentence and a fine of 250 pounds sterling.
The Gazette would like to add that no charges have been brought against Simon Tinsley,
Ann Simmons, Emma Knytleigh or the Reverend Banks, nor is it believed they had any
connection to the matter.
