The
Poisoned
Pen |
New media? Bah humbug!
The films we find in cinemas today try to dazzle us with special effects, populating the
screens with digitally-created characters lacking both emotion and depth. In their
desperation for an imaginative idea, producers in recent years have turned to Jane Austen,
whose books still reflect real people in elegant social dramas.Whilst
the Poisoned Pen was appalled at the audacity of any of these directors to actually change
the words of the finest English novelist, he would concede that some of the attempts made
passable entertainment in the less demanding world of the movie theatre.
Which of the following movies do you think best reflected the spirit of
Jane Austen's work? |
