Village Council to Elect New Leader Changes in government
regulations are leading to more power moving to local authorities. This has opened up a
position for a single village official to represent the interests of both Lower and Upper
Puckering. The new position will be an elected one with the election to take place in
June. Though no candidates have officially stated they are running, village stalwart Nigel
Morcombe is said to be in the race. It is thought he may have opposition in newcomer
Colonel Bratherton.
Given the possible candidates in the village, Stoney Grove (see
lead story) might be able to open a circus with both elephants and a bunch of
clowns! |
