Welcome
There were many who welcomed Mr. Tinsley and his paramour when they bought Stoney
Grove, but wiser heads waited and now we see the truth. Our great heritage is to be
prostituted in the name of crass commercialism. Are we to be even safe in our homes with
foreign tourists driving willy-nilly through our lanes, even as ferocious lions stalk our
fields? Rue the day that Tinsley came with his American lover.

Whilst delighted to see the re-emergence of Puckerings local newspaper I am
appalled by the content. Are the rags that pass for newspapers in London now to dilute the
pastoral peace of Puckering? Are we to be faced with blaring headlines, sexual innuendo
and poor attempts at humour on every page?

Show More Respect
I must protest the tone of the article concerning the new position of Village
Elder. This is a very responsible position that anyone should be proud to consider. It may
be akin, in its own small way, to the position of London's new Mayor. In these times of
change and uncertainty, there are a variety of issues facing village life. We hope for
growth, but worry how it may change us. We want new blood in the village, but wonder how
outsiders will contribute to village life. We want more visitors, but worry about how we
will manage the traffic. I would expect our only local newspaper to show more respect.
