Maiden Overs St Annes 89, Puckering
90-8
St. Annes might be looking for some heavenly assistance after this game, as it was the
ladies of Puckering that gave their opposition little charity. Coming on second change
after an impressive opening stand of 62 Rachel tore through the batting order and finished
with 6-17. She pitched several balls that were short in length and reared up at the
batsmen, but generally kept things under control. Things did get a little ugly after a
verbal altercation with one of the St. Annes batsmen who was reputedly unhappy about being
bowled a maiden over. A hasty shot led to his premature ejection.
In reply Puckering made a slow, but steady start with the runs spread evenly around. It
took a forceful 20 n.o. by Burns to take them over the top, but the Irregulars made the
runs with several overs to spare. |
